Nylon is a tough, chemical resistant material that is well suited for 3D printing. Nylon readily absorbs water from the air, so it must be handled carefully . We use a special drying chamber to feed the nylon to the 3D printer without exposing it to the air.

Nylon is one of the strongest plastics and it easily withstands the 3000+ g forces in our centrifuge.
The bottom feature fits into the centrifuge bucket like a lock and key.

This piece was designed in CorelCAD, a version of AutoCAD, exported to STL format in Solidowrks, and prepared for 3D printing in Netfabb. This 3D filament color is called "coffee".
